Councilor has once again been recognized among the nation’s leading accounting firms, earning the No. 229 spot on INSIDE Public Accounting’s (IPA) 2026 Top 500 Accounting Firms list. The recognition places Councilor among the Top 300 accounting firms in the country and marks the firm’s eighth consecutive year of recognition.
Councilor’s 2026 ranking represents continued momentum for the firm, moving six spots up from No. 235 in 2025. IPA’s annual rankings are based on firm net revenue and provide a benchmark for the size and growth of accounting firms across the country.
The latest ranking reflects a period of meaningful growth and evolution for Councilor. In July 2026, the firm officially transitioned from its trade name CBM to Councilor introducing a refreshed brand and marking the next chapter for a firm with more than a century of history. While the brand has evolved, the firm continues to build on its rich history, expand its capabilities, and position itself to meet the changing needs of its clients.
“Our continued presence on the IPA Top 300 is a reflection of the growth, dedication and talent of our entire team,” said Daniel Weaver, President and Managing Partner of Councilor. “What makes this year particularly meaningful is that we’re entering a new chapter with a clear sense of who we are and where we want to go. In a rapidly changing industry, remaining independently owned gives us the freedom to make decisions based on what’s best for our clients and our people. We have a strong foundation built over more than a century, and we’re excited about what comes next.”
