Daniel Weaver, President and Managing Partner of Councilor, was recognized among outstanding CPAs for his leadership, technical expertise, mentorship, and service to the accounting profession.

Forbes announced it’s 2026 list of America’s Best-in-State CPAs including Councilor Managing Partner Daniel Weaver among the honorees in Maryland.  

The annual list highlights outstanding CPAs across the country who have demonstrated excellence in public accounting, professional leadership, community involvement, and service to the profession. Candidates are evaluated based on their professional achievements, years of experience, thought leadership, regulatory compliance, and dedication to advancing the accounting profession. Daniel Weaver is the President and Managing Partner of Councilor. With over two decades in the accounting industry, Dan is renowned for his technical skill and clear guidance. He scaled the firm’s Audit and Assurance practice to better support the businesses and not-for-profit organizations navigating financial regulations.

Recognizing Leadership in Accounting and Mentorship

In addition to his technical expertise, Dan is widely recognized for his commitment to developing the next generation of accounting professionals. As president, he has played a key role in shaping the firm’s system for fostering a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth. His leadership has helped position Councilor for continued success while supporting employees in building meaningful and rewarding careers.

Dan’s dedication to the industry extends beyond the firm through his active involvement in professional and community organizations. He has served in leadership roles with the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and Nonprofit CPAs and currently contributes to organizations including The Kiplinger Washington Editors and Trinity Washington University.
