Gregory Estes is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Councilor Wealth. He brings nearly 30 years of experience building client relationships, managing portfolios, and developing investment strategies, along with deep expertise in equity research and compliance-driven risk management.
As CIO, Greg leads investment strategy and advances Councilor Wealth’s mission to deliver a personalized wealth management experience for high-net-worth clients. He works closely with individuals and families to support their long-term financial goals through customized research, analysis, and strategic guidance.
Before joining Councilor, Greg served as a portfolio manager and chief compliance officer for a boutique asset management firm representing high-net-worth families and institutions with more than $415 million in assets under management. In that role, he developed investment strategies, managed fund portfolios, and built client relationships by presenting investment reviews and advising on policy compliance, performance, and capital market outlooks.
Earlier in his career, Greg served as a portfolio manager for both a capital management firm and a banking institution, where he executed investment decisions, performed asset valuations, and conducted cash flow-modeled business valuations. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he has also developed socially responsible investment strategies and served as a mentor and coach to junior analysts.
