Joseph Wilson Jr. is a Senior Advisor at Councilor, bringing more than 40 years of experience in tax preparation and planning services. His broad yet refined knowledge base provides the composure, intuition, and accessibility needed to support a range of clients as they make strategic, calculated decisions related to estate and trust planning, administration, and compliance.
Known for his calm, approachable demeanor, Joe specializes in tailoring strategies to meet clients’ lifestyle, business, and family goals, maximizing wealth while minimizing tax burdens.
Joe serves as a co-director of Councilor’s tax services. Before joining the leadership team at Councilor, he co-founded the Washington, DC-based accounting firm Chaconas & Wilson, P.C. in 1986 and provided audit and tax services at a Virginia-based accounting firm.
He is also active in his community, serving on the finance committee of the Ballston Park Homeowners Association and the financial review committee at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Virginia.
